Phuket R&R - The Land Far Far Away From NUS
Woke up at 4am on 4/1/07. The flight to Phuket was at 7.10am and so we had to reach the Budget Terminal earlier to have breakfast and possibly take some pictures since we have not been there before. It was really budget alright with simple design, though clean as expected but not as posh as Terminal 1 and 2. Here are some pictures at Budget Terminal.

Reached Phuket International Airport at about 7.45am Thailand time. Our hotel was quite a pleasant place with some interesting stuff like pictures of the place after the strike of Tsunami and it was pretty near to the beach. The beach was great though the sea water was not blue like in Maldives or Krabi. It was like Singapore sea but with lots of water sports like jet ski and banana boat which I did not try since I did those things in Bintan already.

Green curry and Tom Yam Goong - Yummy!

Dear and I did white water rafting which was quite cool and also parasailing which was awesome. For water rafting, it seemed like the passengers did not do much but our front and real guides were the one doing all the steering. Our guides were the only one who did not wear helmet. They must be expert! For parasailing, there would be a local who did the controlling of the parachute and he also did not wear any harness. I think these people are really daring. We were too broke to do snorkelling and ATV so I guess we can do them next time.

Oh by the way, for those guys who wish to see some top nudity, you will see it quite frequently at Phuket with all the elderly caucasian baring themselves to tan. Of course, if you are lucky, you can see some hot young chicks going topless but be prepared to see otherwise. What really astonished me was the number of Europeans/Americans/Australians having their holidays there. There were really shockingly few Asians. Moreover, you will be challenged to identify the transverstites from the born women which the former seems to be much prettier. In Phuket, there were 2 models of car that were very commonly seen on thr road. One is the Toyota Altis and Honda Jazz. Very seldom would I spot a Mazda or even Nissan.

We also watched their local performance at Fantasea. It was awesome. A total display of their culture and history. It was really breathtaking seeing all the acrobatic and elephant stunts!

Seafood night!
