Sumitomo Chemical Asia Dinner & Dance 2007 - Le Glamour
It's been a long 3 months with all the planning, discussing and coordinating to maximise the entertainment value of the event and to sincerely strive for a enjoyable evening for both the employees and the management. I am glad that the D&D flew up with a blast! I got to thank many people for that!
Although I am the project leader for this event, the rest of the Fun @ Sumitomo committee members had dedicated much time and effort to assist and support me. All of them had been great teammates. Without their commitment and diligence, I am sure that the event would not have been even half as successful. I like to thank Jackson, Ginny, Maeve, Emilline and Alice for that.
I also want to acknowledge the management of Sumitomo Chemical Asia for putting work life balance and family as part of their operation agenda. Without direction from above, all these activities would not even have existed. The event could be so successful partly because of the management's willingness to set an appropriate amount of budget for it.
I like to thank the event company, Inspiration, for their outstanding coordination to get a competent Master of Ceremony, Prem Lulla and an entertaining performer, Dan Thompson. Of course, many credits go to Mount Faber, The Jewel Box, for hosting the event. The venue was fine and the food was satisfactory. The ambience at the cocktail area was endearing. All of this fitted into our theme - Le Glamour.
Thanks to all the attendees whose sporting atittude created an atmosphere that was so heartwarming and wonderful. Thanks to all family and friends whom shared with us a memorable evening.
Last but not least, I really love to thank my dear who was there to support me and was so understanding with my frequent absences to oversee the smooth running of the event. Thank you dear for sharing with me my success in organising the D&D.
Double Blessings!
Yesterday was double blessings to me. I was able to celebrate two important events of my life!
The first one was my confirmation in the company. It had been a long 6 months before my HR manager handed me the confirmation letter to me. I felt relieved knowing that my hard work had been recognised and the company benefits are now made available for me. I also felt hopeful while picturing my path towards the rest of the 2 years in this Graduate Trainee Programme.
To congratulate me on my confirmation day, dear was so sweet to arrange a nice-looking bonsai to my office. She also wrote sweet sweet words in the card attached. Some of my colleagues saw that and they were totally envious of me having such a wonderful girlfriend. Yes, dear 'teng' me very much!
My colleagues also surprised me with a present! A brand new pair of earphones from Sony! Haha! Actually, it was not a surprise lah. The person who initiated that idea actually asked me first and I just told him some of the items on my shopping list. Nonetheless, Jackson, Vincent, Julia, Vera, Eric, Popie, Jorene, Nicole, Sharon and Chen Wei, thank you guys!
Thank you dear for bringing me to this splendid heaven of dining "Asia Grand" at Odeon Towers. We tried the Beijing duck, roasted scallops, wasabi fried prawns and other many delicious dishes. I felt so full after that. I just hoped that I could enjoy them better without suffering from flu. In addition to the already fantastic gifts, dear gave me two more! They were one pair of heart-shaped cufflings and a series of Hongkong TV drama that I had been wanting to get. Dear, I love you and I can never thank you enough for your constant love and care.
Last but not least, allow me to thank all those who had wished me "Happy Birthday" on yesterday especially dear's parents who gave me a big angbao!
Thanks to: Dear's family - Adeline, Audrey, Penelope, Christine, Uncle Paul, Auntie Sharon and Auntie Doc. University classmates - Edmund, Aidah, Vivien, Meiying and Lindy. Old friend - Derong.
